Meet God's Workers!

Rev. Theresa D. Hoover

Theresa Hoover is an Ordained Elder in the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. She currently serves as the Pastor of Livingston United Methodist Church in Livingston, New Jersey.  She is the former Pastor of Bethany Browne Memorial United Methodist Church in Jersey City, New Jersey, Centenary United Methodist Church in Berlin, New Jersey and Good Shepherd United Methodist Church located in Northfield, New Jersey. She has also served as the Protestant Chaplain at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.

Prior to going into full-time ministry, she was the President and CEO of Integral Associates, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in regulatory compliance with emphasis on training in Sexual Harassment, Labor Relations and ADA.

Reverend Hoover received her Master of Divinity Degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D. C. She is also a graduate of Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia, Pa. where she received her Juris Doctor degree in Law. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar, the Massachusetts Bar and the Federal Bar.

Having practiced law for more than thirty years, she held such positions as General Counsel for the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Managing Attorney for the Massachusetts Department of Employment and Training and she now serves as Chairperson of the Greater New Jersey Area Conference Commission on the Status and Role of Women (COSROW).

Theresa left the practice of law upon being selected by Ford Motor Company to participate in its Dealer Training Program where she received a certificate in business. During the program, she worked at various Ford and Lincoln Mercury Dealerships while learning all aspects of the auto industry.

After graduating from the program and becoming a dealer candidate, Theresa decided to merge her legal skills with her knowledge and experience in the auto industry by forming a consulting company which advised auto dealers and others on compliance issues pertaining to federal and state laws.  Her company, Integral Associates, Inc. later expanded its coverage to various entities in the public and private sectors. She eventually heard God’s call to service in ministry and answered it.

She is a member of several organizations including the Links, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She has served on several boards and has received numerous awards, the most precious being the NAACP Unsung Heroine Award in the Field of Law.

Theresa Hoover is married to Dr. Clarence C. Hoover, III and they have two sons, Clarence, IV and Derric.
