“Men anpil, chay pa lou: With many hands, the load is not heavy."

                                                                                                -- Creole proverb

Haiti Hope House is a non-profit organization focused on the education and training of the children and young adults of Haiti. HHH provides children with tuition scholarships, sending them to school when their parents can no longer afford to and provides training classes in Electrical Assisting/House Wiring and Project Management for young adults, giving them skills they can use for work in their futures.

HHH is headed by Rev. Franck Aguilh, an Elder in Full Connection of the United Methodist Church who retired prematurely from the parish ministry to devote himself entirely to the situation and people in Haiti. After traveling to the South-East part of the country, in an area called Musac, in La Vallee de Jacmel, Rev. Aguilh took notice of so many children who, for economic reasons, were not going to school. It was time to move beyond repairing broken houses and passing out flashlights and health kits.

It was time to do something more lasting, something with the power to impact the lives of these children and these young people positively both in the present and for the future at the grassroot level; it was time to give them hope; it was time to empower them to be the best they can be and become major agents of positive change.

Livingston UMC supports the efforts of the Haiti Hope House and encourages its parishioners as well as the community to learn more about HHH by visiting their website and "Like"-ing their Facebook page.

Together, we can join HHH in touching the lives of the Haitian people and give them hope for a better future: one boy at a time, one girl at a time, one family at a time, one community at a time; not for their own glory, but for the glory of God who makes it all possible.
